A charming pair of oil painting portraits of sisters, signed by French listed Impressionist artist Gaston Blondeau (1886 - 1979), and while undated, their fashion places then well in early 1900s. Impressionist feel to the work, and they are oil paintings done on beveled wood boards, so no damage to either portrait. Sweet capture of 2 children, young girls, I think, though it's possible the one might be a boy (side-parted hair). They are each on board measuring 10 5/8" x 8 5/8" and about 1/4" in depth. Ready to frame, or display as they are.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. No holes, no lost paint. Jewelry, costume and expressions treated lovingly, one wonders if these are the children of the artist. No further information, however. You are buying both paintings in this single sale.
