A Georgian silver vinaigrette, excellent condition and  with beautifully engraved and engine-turned decoration, the hinged interior grille pierced with a bird amid flowering branches, Birmingham, 1814 by John Shaw. The size is about double that of many, just under 1 3/4" long, 1 1/8" wide and 1/2" in depth, closed. Spectacular 211 year old treasure, so well preserved. NOTE: Shown against silk embroidery panels which helps us capture color with less fuss - only props and do not go with the vinaigrette.  Full measurements also appear on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition throughout, age and type considered. No loss or bothersome bends, and it closes very smoothly and without gaps. Very slight 'push' to the bottom panel, surely easily flattened out should one wish to push it back a bit - barely visible, but to be pointed out. This is a real beauty, and early piece!
