Wonderful & rare antique Victorian era travel inkwell or scent/cologne etui, a genuine tortoise shell box, case or etui with original bottle and all in fabulously preserved condition! Quite unique, this piece is most likely a travel inkwell though we've had and offered somewhat larger boxes or scent caddies with similar small perfume bottles. Not that it will likely be used for either now, more of an elegant little decorative accent for sure. Richly mottled tortoise shell veneers and the condition is just superb! Rare!
Very good condition. A tiny 'nip' or two to the tortoise exterior but it retains the original teal velvet interior lining, working clasp and original bottle. The white metal lid has small splits on the sides (shown in pictures). See images for measurements.
