Unusual, an Art Deco feel to the design, there is hardly any bottle to this quite heavy little beauty, and the thickness of the French 18k gold collar, hinged cap makes up the majority of the 24.89 grams. Even figuring 17 grams to the 18k gold at today's price means well over $2k in gold alone. The glass isn't very thick at all, and I've weighed equivalent tube glass and cabochon to come up with the potential actual gold weight. You can see the French eagle's head profile punch mark, which is their control guarantee of 18k gold, this one yellow gold in color. The stones confirmed as garnet using Presidium Gem Tester II. A purse or lay down flask just 2 5/8" long.
Very good to excellent condition, I find no flaws to note. The cap is stopper less because it is a pressure closure. Heavy gauge 18k gold hinged collar and cap, and beautiful undamaged deep cabochons of garnet both on top and at the pushbutton clasp make it a jewel - almost qualifies as jewelry. Would be a very heavy 18k gold ring based on weight.
