A mother's treasures, I found the three all together, and that's the way they'll stay. You're offered 3 beautiful hand painted portrait miniatures in close similar sized frames, the mother's portrait done earlier, about c.1875-80, and the little girls (2) are signed JMS, and artist dated 1901. Different artists of course, for mother and then her darling girls. Perhaps these were the portraits Papa carried with him while traveling for business. It's a bit unusual to have miniature paintings by 1901, though they're certainly beautiful - a bit to the Impressionist manner. I've found them in England. Edwardian children. Measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition, age and type considered. I have not taken the paintings out of their frames. As you see, small pins/nails in from sides and into the velvet card backing holds them in place. Slightly convex cover glass and brass frames. Each are sweet original works of art, watercolor or gouache. Please do not ask me to sell them individually. I don't like breaking up a family, after these 121 years. Aren't they just gorgeous, precious!
