All the decorator magazines are showing lots of framed antique prints and drawings. Over the decades I have collected hundreds of antique drawings and fine intaglio prints, some dating as far back as 1500s. This is a 19th century drawing I've loved on my own walls, professionally framed about 25 years ago. The composition is as fine and interesting as is the control of shadow and lighting with addition of chalk or white conte crayon. From memory, this drawing is signed and I once had the information on the artist (which I certainly kept somewhere, but can't now put hands on it). I bought the drawing in Paris. The special mat was cut, from memory, to conceal a single corner which was a bit foxed and torn. The result has always pleased me. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition as noted above. Drawing is 19th century and signed by artist (French). Frame and archival cover glass is about 25 years old, cost $300 back then, and is in excellent condition, as shown on my own walls in final photo.
