Charming French needlepoint panel, ready to frame, or remove from stretcher and make up as a wonderful down-filled decorator throw pillow. As you can see, extra canvas folded over the stretcher, so the 16" square (more or less) can be sewn up as a nice large pillow top should you choose it. VERY Country French, a girl weaves flowers while her lamb snuggles in close. Very likely the needlework project of a child learning her various needle arts.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, Mid-1800s, the dyed wool yarns are surprisingly supple and without odor or moth damage. No holes, fading perhaps of the background yarn but not the others, as you can see from the view of the backside.
