Listing while old: I feel certain I have seen the large original painting of this girl, and I can't think of where or of the artist's name. Vaguely aware of her being a Flemish artist's work, and 17th century. UPDATE: A kind eBayer has reminded me, this is "after" the work by Johannes Cornelisz Verspronk (17th century) on display in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and is titled "Portrait of a Girl Dressed in Blue". I did see it there.

This is a souvenir portrait miniature from mid-late 1800s, made for the tourist trade. It was quite common for famous and beloved art works (and historical figures) to win the heart of people traveling to see them. A much nicer way to take home a remembrance of those artworks than our modern t-shirts, really, but basically similar. This is a painting, and a signature of the artist is there at about 8 o'clock position - just initials. If you think of the artwork/artist, please do email me. Thank you. Full measurements noted on the photos, but her face is only 3/4" chin to hairline.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type, again, it's last half of 1800s, painted as a souvenir, and "aprés" or after a famous artist's work. I found it in France. Painted on thin semitransparent wafer, housed under slightly convex cover glass. The frame is wood, but seems to have a metal face, perhaps. No flaws to report.
