Dating circa earliest 1800s, I found her in France a decade or so ago, just after she'd had very light professional restoration done (see backside) and only now am I ready to offer her for sale. I love the boldness of her mustard colored Empire waist gown, and the symbolism of her chosen flowers (Royalist rather than Revolutionary). She wears a fashionable stiff ruffle collar and wraps in an elegant cashmere shawl. Soulful brown eyes and a confidence in her 3/4 pose. She displays beautifully without frame, as you see her, or is ready to have a frame made or fitted for her. I like the old French apartment way of showing art on my walls and also along the floor against walls. The art is all, n'est pas? Lots of photos to show you her every detail. Very good to excellent condition for age and type. She is painted in oil on stretched linen canvas which remains in very nice condition and is tightly stretched, still. I do not see a signature, though she is nicely painted. She has several small areas of imperfection or where an imperfection has had professional restoration. You can see from backside the small canvas patches to correspond to whatever was restored on front side. I've done detail photos of the spots I see as imperfections for your review. Most of these wonderful old paintings have some restoration or need some. Those that do not are, as expected, much higher in cost but not so much higher in appeal or decorative value. I have never found one in that fabulous Provence-like mustard yellow, and she is gorgeous!a
