Large antique to vintage 15" Stafforshire blue & white serving platter by Allertons, Ltd. with floral, foliate & tendril "Stockholm" pattern decoration and wonderful condition! The "Stockholm" pattern by Allertons is reminiscent of Royal Copenhagen's "Blue Fluted Half* Lace" (1976.1.4950). The Allertons pieces were likely used to replace broken pieces of Royal Copenhagen. This pattern is painted in blue and based on stylized chrysanthemum and cinquefoil. The design includes depictions of flowers on stems, petals, leaves, and ivy. The marks on this one with "Ltd" are described as being post 1915 but that's about as close as we can come so, early 1900s. We also currently have quite a few wonderful old Victorian and later flow blue & transferware pieces so be sure to browse some while you're with us. Fantastic decorative accents all!
Very good condition. A tiny nip or two possible but no larger chips, cracks, damage or repairs. As you can see from the close-up of the maker mark, there is some crazing to the glaze. See images for all measurements.
