From my own lifelong collection, and located in a stored crate, a surprise this week of a group of stunning antique French sceau, sealing wax seals and marks like this one, a .75" round cancellation stamp matrix, no monogram. These were, I believe, used to mark documents like invoices paid. If you know the significance of this geometric matrix's use, please email and we'll add to its story. Very good to excellent condition for age and type. A gorgeous large hand carved mother of pearl handle which hasn't a single flaw to report. No chips, no cracks or hairlines. Perfectly preserved and more than 150 years old. I'm listing numerous important seals this week, some shown alongside this one in final photos (our ambiance photos), so do look for the others.
