Fabulous antique French Napoleon III or Victorian era artist's box, painter's box with jet black ebonized veneers, brass inlay and fantastic boulle style inlaid cartouche featuring a painter's palette, flowers, leaves and two butterflies with shimmering mother of pearl wings! One of two artist's paint sets or boxes that we're adding this week. This one having the interior fittings but no contents. One would expect to see a tray of old watercolor bricks, a few mixing pots, etc. but they've gone missing or emptied over the years. One of the finest painter's boxes we've found though, the style and condition are superb with the inlays and condition so, don't miss it.
Very good condition. A few small chips to the ebony or ebonized veneer but no missing inlays. As noted above, the contents are missing but the box is truly magnificent. All original hardware with lock but missing the key. See images for measurements.
