Lovely antique French Napoleon III to Belle Epoque era Grand Tour style souvenir casket or jewelry box with thick beveled glass on all sides and eglomise or reverse painted scene on the lid depicting the "Exposition de Bordeaux, 1895"! One of a small collection that we're currently working at getting photographed and listed. With all of the 'revenge travel' over the past year or two, why not relive the memories with these delightful antique French souvenirs....much better than a fridge magnet, wouldn't you say?
Very good condition. Possibly a tiny nip here and there to the glass panels but no larger chips, cracks or damage. The scene is rich & vibrant, likely a transfer of the structure outlines with hand painted coloring and has no signs of loss or bubbling. Original red tufted silk or satin interior base lining completely intact and in great shape. See images for all measurements.
