While it isn't fitted inside as a pocket watch box or a stamps box as one might expect, it seems as likely a use as any for this little box. Dates c.1850-70s and is beautifully crafted, much as the larger cabinetry makers of the era. A pushbutton opener, nicely hinged and finished inside, and is a little beauty. Full measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, age and type considered. There are light surface rubs of age and use, but no chips and no cracks. A bright brass stringing and a cartouche which awaits your own monogram.
