Fine jewelry: Antique English Victorian era 16k gold brooch 36mm x 32mm and 12mm deep + pin back and c-clamp c. 1840-60. Gold has been acid tested. Total weight: 9.49 grams. Polished garnet cabochon 15 mm x 10 mm oval. Empty backside locket, likely once held a lock of hair. While this is a brooch, I have often worn these clasped over my pearls as a pendant since I'm not so much a brooch wearer. Rave reviews!
Condition: Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Superb stone, and no bends or dents to the gold. Locket back is intact, ready for your memento. Cover glass is perfect, slightly convex and beautifully polished. We gave the gold a light rub cleaning, but in our greatly enlarged photos we can see one might wish to clean further into the pattern.
