I have 2 of these, matching tiaras which were created for the sisters of a late 19th century bride. There were 3 together, very unique and alike, but the 3rd was missing gems I would not be able to replace, so I only bought 2. I'll offer them separately but the information is the same. This will be #2, and #1 will be sold separately. A metal matrix beset with very large French paste gems, the largest in a brilliant blue/teal shade, each one is facet cut and prong-set and have lasted the test of time. You can see there is a horsehair or coarse woven panel at the headband to which I imagine was sewn a veil for the wedding. Kept as souvenirs for generations, they were recently brought out of the family chateau along with other family mementos. I do not have the family name, only the story of a wedding, and 3 sisters of the bride. Full measurements are noted on the photos.
Very good condition for age and type, with all French paste gems intact and unbroken. I did clean it well, and check to be sure the prongs were all tightly holding the gems. I still feel bad about not buying the damaged 3rd one. I like stories to stay intact and together, but I digress. This one has a broader woven fabric mesh and has no breaks or flaws notable. One can remove the white netting, as it's only sewn on, but I'll leave it in case a bride (or her sisters) wish to use it again. You are buying 1 crown in this offering.
