The top of an architectural salvage pillar, salvaged from some 1700s French home, large and fabulous to hang, turn into a shelf support, or just display on shelves as the art it truly is. Very old, solid wood, hand carved, the old gilt still very intact, along with the old hanging hardware on back, too. It's nearly 13" tall and 12+" widest.
Very good to excellent for age and type, these are rare to find. One small acanthus leaf curl to left mid-section has been lost to the ages, but still, a wonderful architectural fragment. Scrolls and acanthus, the wider part is the top (some of our photos show it upside down simply because it will stand that way for angled shots.
