Doulton Bursalem underglaze mark dates the set c.1895-1902, Belle Epoch, when all things gold, elaborate, and opulent were the rage. For desert or as cups, the set of 4 opulent raised gold enameled double handle cups and saucers (4 each) makes entertaining fun again. It's a small set, but each piece is a jewel, and survives in excellent condition. Photos show the set well. My favorite table is one set with layers of complimenting raised gold enamel porcelains, fine antique French Sterling silver flatware, your best crystal, and the people you love. Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Fine quality to begin with, all appropriate marks on bottom of each plate and cup. I find no chips, hairlines, cracks, crazing, loss of glaze of raised gold hand applied decoration.
