Four panels of Roman ruins, including St Peter's, the Christ figure is carved and set against and overlying a beautiful micro mosaic dove. A souvenir of someone's Grand Tour, c. 1860-90. Beautifully hand crafted and very well preserved.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type. Created in a deep white metal basin, it has no losses at all, no disruptions to the tiny colored glass tesserae. Very fine form, and large at 10" tall. Other measurements noted on photos. Greatly enlarged, you see the architecture of Rome.
