One of several charming 19th century souvenir items being listed today, back-painted glass (eglomise) views of monuments of Paris, this one being a very rare good-sized oval frame surrounded by 10 separate views of Paris' architectural highlights of an early to mid-1800s Grand Tour. It is definitely apersonal favorite. Everyone loves these iconic monumenst of Paris. Any avid traveler will instantly recognize them all. RARE frame format, I have never seen this form in all my years in France. But I digress. Full measurements noted on photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. This c.1840-60s frame has a glass and is ready for your own favorite family trip view/photo. Large hanging loop up top. All 10 panels are free of loss, even to tiny and quite usual nips to the edges of the painted glass roundels. Lovely condition! This one is quite remarkable without any broken glass panels - each view is a 7/8" diameter hand painted landscape -  and frame are all in fine order. There's a sense in which you have to consider it a fragile object. It would appear one view has been reattached from backside and supported by an old ornament of pressed brass, looking like it's been pounded flat to hold tightly and support that one roundel. Charming (and rare to find) subject.
