The amber is a deep honey color, gorgeous, and trimmed with a 9k gold ring at the end. Just at 2", with a diameter at tip of .5". The interior diameter is right about 9mm, for use with smaller cigars or cheroots. Amber is fossilized resin of certain species of ancient extinct trees. This one with its' original sterling silver case or etui, the hallmarks match those on the cigar or cheroot holder and dates to 1906. The silversmith marks are for S. Blanckensee & Son Ltd., Birmingham registered in 1897. A lovely piece and one of two that we're adding this week so, be sure to browse some while you're with us. Very good for age and type, it is a beauty, but you can see it has been used and cherished, and while it's been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, it doesn't appear to have teeth marks at the lip. With its original sterling silver case to protect it for roughly a century, the case shows ages with some dimpling, but is fully intact. Case or etui is 2 3/8" long, 5/8" widest.
