A charming sewing set, thimble and egg-shaped etui or case in fine 19th century carved ivory with glass beadwork trim. Dates mid to late 1800s, Napoleon III or Victorian era, and presents beautifully. Sewing tool, sweet little etui. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, I can point out a couple of the old glass beads missing but not much. Sewing collector's dream item, there are no breaks, chips, cracks or hairlines in either the thimble or the case. From my collections of decades, being disbursed.
