Exquisite and tiny, her face is only 1/2", and the detail is fascinating! This is a mid-1700s gem portrait miniature, very small and yet captures so much fine detail and preserves an image of this woman who lived nearly 3 centuries ago. From the Louis XV era, likely a courtier, I purchased this long ago along with the man shown in the final image (same artist, both tiny), which is offered separately. I have acid-tested that front facing of the frame, and it tested 24k. No signature, but a splendid artist to capture so much in such a tiny gem image. This one is very old, has no damage to the painting at all.
Very good to excellent condition, no chips, no cracks, no loss but also no signature. I thought there might be one, the work is so tiny and exceptional. Photos show her greatly enlarged, but keep in mind her face is only 1/2" from chin to hairline. The miniaturists fascinate me, always! Full measurements noted on the photos.
