A beautiful antique French worked set of 7 pieces of needlepoint embroidery meant for mounting on an ecclesiastical robe, stole, chasuble, Catholic vestment in soft palette against a cream background.. Entirely hand sewn, the cross and decorative back length piece, 5 medallions likely for stole, both long and short, would make up an entire liturgical costume's focal points, I think. Unused, but early to mid 1900s so antique to vintage in age, I found them in France. Whether for display or wear, or to make up into religious clothing as intended, or into opulent throw pillows - the entire set is superb. I am not Catholic, and ask forgiveness if I've called it by the wrong name. Shown front and back, and our measurements are noted on the photos.
Excellent condition for age and type, these dates earliest to possibly mid 1900s, and are antique to vintage. No damage, no loss, No odor. Beautiful tapestry panels to work up into throw pillows, perhaps, or centers to an Easter table setting?
