Micro Mosaic plaque depicting realistic dove and flowers set into 14k gold, formerly a section of a superb Victorian Grand Tour bracelet. Itcomes from a rather large stash I bought as a Paris goldsmith's estate was auctioned off. Everything from jeweler's tools to unmounted stones, cameo, micro mosaics. Among those were sections of what must have once been a bracelet or perhaps even a necklace. I have 4, and they are listed separately. You see some of them in the final photos I've sold off a lot of others - those are the remainders I'd kept. You are buying just one - this oval black slate basin simple yet beautifully worked and colorful little dove with flowers, curly tesserae creating the feathers.  Ready to make up into bespoke jewelry (is it Elizabethe Locke who has done some masterpieces with these at enormous prices?). Or just collect them as I have, as the small wondrous works of glass art they truly are. Each tiny colored glass tesserae worked into the onyx or black marble basin, filed smooth.  Full measurements noted on photos.

Good to very good condition for age and type. It has been salvaged with others from a Victorian bracelet, generous 14k gold mount, still with the links one could work with to create a bracelet or necklace with beads, pearls, or sections of same and the other 3 plaques which have the same gold mounts (sold separately), and remain in undamaged condition. This one has flaws. While the tesserae show no losses, no raised tesserae, no chips, one can see that there are super-fine tight hairlines I've marked with 'x' for your review. I've greatly enlarged this item so you can see them. It is stable but one might wish to run something across the underside (resin?) to stabilize for wear if you intend to make it up into jewelry. What might appear as imperfection on the bevels of the basin is optical illusion, glare or reflection from the gold, or dust particle. The entire 14k gold mount in excellent condition, as well.
