Some time ago we had a larger model of this charming Baccarat glass and heavy pressed brass double inkwell sailboat - whimsical and wonderful. The flag and sail wave in the wind, the anchor and steering pole and fin are all in place, sailor's caps make up the hinged lids of the fluted Baccarat glass inkwells. Full measurements noted on our photos. NOTE: The books upon which is it shown do not go with the inkwell - just props for photos.
Very good to excellent condition throughout, age and type considered. I did not polish the brass, leaving the bright finish and patina as I found it in France. One could certainly apply a little brass polish to bring it to a higher gold coloration. It shows beautifully. The 'half egg' boat's hull is pristine, as are the inkwells - no chips or cracks, no breaks.
