Gorgeous antique Dutch hallmarked sterling silver & solid banded agate hors d’oeuvre or pate´ serving utensil with ornate engraved decoration and wonderful condition! I’ve had this piece for quite some time, get it out whenever we have pate´ or similar creamy sides or snacks but it would be great for butter also, possibly even desk top as a letter opener. Simply beautiful. It bears the Dutch lion passant hallmark, the key mark, used from 1853-1952, is stamped intruding on the lion hallmark to indicate pieces designated for export. The date mark is for 1884. “A.G.K.” silversmith mark but I’ve not been able to find a reference as of listing. A wonderful addition to your fine dining experience!
Very good to excellent condition. Possibly an extremely tiny nip or two to the agate but, as you can see, there are no larger chips, cracks, damage or repairs. The sterling portion also superb given it’s 140 or so years. See images for measurements.
