Fabulous large antique French Empire style 4 5/8" desk top single inkwell, heavy (likely Baccarat) wheel cut crystal with figural gilt bronze frame & lid featuring winged griffins and Napoleonic eagle! Overly heavy, this one weighs just under 2 lbs. The crystal body with a large bubble shaped ink reservoir and the top cut with grooves that serve as pen or quill holders. Very good condition. If you look at the picture of the base, from the bottom, you can see a small bend or dent on the front right. Possibly a tiny nip or two to the crystal but no large chips, no cracks or other damage. There is a bit of wear to the gilding on the cap/lid and ink staining and verdigris on the inner rim/collar of the lid. See pictures for measurements.
