One of my personal items, a stunning mid-1800s carnet du bal, necessaire (actually), with back-painted glass souvenir landscape with chateau set into lush colorful mother of pearl. I've long collected these and will be offering my collection in months ahead. Condition on this one is superb. The interior moire silk card compartment's side panels still fully intact, note book with its gold foil page sides, bright. The old calendar still intact. Only needs addition of a slim pencil, which would form the closure. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent throughout. Rare to find one of these without any loss, mother of pearl being easy to damage, and most of these necessaire were actually used so sometimes dropped, damaged. The bright gold look corner/frame and cartouche are all fully intact and just beautiful.
