Henri d'Artois (1820-1883) King of France and Navarre, of the Bourbon dynasty. He became king in 1830 at the age of 10 but was not crowned. Louis-Philippe 1er, his cousin, succeeded him and reigned 1830-1848. With the appearance of gold, it's likely gold on sterling silver (vermeil), though I have not taken it out to test either one. This snuff box would be a commemorative, dated 1830, made for the occasion. In line for the crown, young Henri was not crowned and seceded to Louis-Philippe who remained as King for 18 years, the last of the reign of Kings in France, and of the Boubon line.

Very good to excellent condition, a fine Royal commemorative. The snuff box is a finely crafted dark chocolate shell, very well preserved and 190 years old. Cover glass is convex, the old original, with a brass mount. Very tiny nips to rim and 1 inner lip flaw which is not bad for age. We've noted it in our images with an 'x' so you can review it in full.  Measurements are noted on the photos.
