We have listed some of these old Second Empire dore bronze frames with appliqués which have had the old silk professionally replaced. This one still has the old original moire silk fabric intact, slightly tattered by age, but it's a gorgeous old thing with the authentic old backing and a fine beveled glass that covers just the aperture. Will hold a 5 1/2" x 4" photo, and groups beautifully together with your wood and appliqué or bow top frames. The old French frames, c.1850-80s are personal favorites. In face, pulling a couple from my own display frames to complete one of the group photos, you see our family photos in them. Ashley, my granddaughter, taking her own photos of Notre Dame just 3 days before the old Cathedral caught fire; and Jack and me departing the redeye flight to Maui for a vacation with all the kids, grandkids. The frames make us look quite a bit more elegant, no matter the photos in them.

Very good condition for age and type, the old original frame and backing showing wear and age to itself. This is, however, its original materials. All of the appliqués are there, thought the end of ribbon on bow for the top one, a wreath, has lost itself to time. Best viewed with its aged back easel to the wall, or hung on wall in display. The thick beveled glass has one small flashing chip to bottom right, nearly completely covered by the frame, itself. Full measurements noted on our photos.
