Elegant antique French hallmarked sterling silver 10 1/4" hors d'oeuvre, condiment, sugar sifter or muffineer, a serving utensil with ornate pierced or reticulated bowl, original turned wood handle and wonderful condition! A fine old piece, the hallmarks date it back to the Louis XVI to Louis Philippe era though you wouldn't guess it was 200 or so years old given its wonderful condition. It bears the French Michel-Ange or Michelangelo hallmark dating it between 1819-1838, the tiny number "1" within those marks means they are in .950 silver (95% pure and so above the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith mark appears to be fro Antoine-Adrien Vautrin, Paris circa 1824-1844. A single yes but as elegant as can be and this one will be an easy fit into an existing fine sterling silver table setting. Don't miss it!
Very good to excellent condition. Some faint surface scuffs possible but, as you can see, there's no damage, no repairs. The turned wood handle has a natural finish and has no breaks or notable damage. See pictures for weight and measurements.
