Lovely antique French 1819-1838 hallmarked Louis XVIII to Louis Philippe I era sterling silver solitaire or bachelor's coffee or tea pot with aesthetic styling including scrolled acanthus bas relief tripod legs, spout & finial, baluster shape and carved ebony or ebonized walnut handle! Aesthetic style to that charming little spout and legs, topped off with a foliate finial and with the original serpentine carved ebony or ebonized handle. The lid and body are marked with the French Michel Ange or Michelangelo hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means it's in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Jean Francois Veyrat, Paris circa 1832-1840. A lovely little, perfectly usable pot. Spoil yourself every morning.
Very good condition, age considered. There is a bit of visible bending to the leg portions and possibly a few tiny dimples but no larger dents, other damage or repairs. A bit of tarnish visible in the images, sorry. See pictures for measurements.
