Delightful antique Victorian to early Edwardian era Black Forest hand carved 5.5" tall smoker's stand, a charming little gnome figure with match holder to his left and brass spent match or ashtray dish in front! Wonderful! Fine detail to the carving, the figure is cheerful with his long flowing beard and stocking cap. Perfect for the tobacciana collectors or, no need to use it for tobacco of course. Great for matches in the kitchen or on the fireplace mantel. Charming!
Good condition. There are a few spots of wood fill repair, his left forearm, tip of his nose and, I believe, to the tip of his cap. Possibly a tiny chip or two elsewhere but, as you can see, it's in otherwise wonderful shape. See pictures for measurements.
