Fabulous antique French sterling silver 4pc hors d'oeuvre or condiment serving implement set with foliate accented pattern, hallmarked sterling silver blades, tines & bowls and ornate reticulated accenting, interlaced "LB" monograms and original fitted storage and/or presentation box! The handles and blade, bowls & tines, etc. bear the post-1838 French Minerve or Minerva hallmarks, the tiny number "1" marking within designates them as being in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are perfectly legible, "F.M." but I've not been able to find reference for the maker yet. I will continue to search and add when I do. A gorgeous set, great additions to your existing fine sterling silver table service!

Very good condition. There is some faint scuffs and tiny dimpling to the handles but no notable damage or repairs. The ebony or ebonized walnut with brass inlay box is a bit rough, a missing brass strip inlay or two and some veneer loss but fully intact. The key shown is included but does not turn the lock. The gold embossed label inside the blue silk or satin lined lid reads "Maison Fondee en 1788, Servan, 2, Place Dauphine, Bordeaux". See pictures for weights and measurements.
