Elegant antique French hallmarked sterling silver 12pc shellfish or oyster fork set with raised foliate & acanthus pattern and original fitted storage and/or presentation box! Gorgeous! Relatively simple but as elegant as French sterling flatware is. We've had this pattern in the past but the name of it eludes me, I'll see if I can find it and will add that info if so. All bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within meaning they're in .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). All solid sterling silver. The silversmith marks are for Tallois & Mayence, Paris circa earliest 20th century. A simply fabulous set, don't miss them!
Very good condition. Some faint surface scuffs, indicative of age and light use but no breaks or damage or repairs to note. The box is a bit aged with some scuffing here and there but intact and solid and the interior retains its original maroon velvet base and lid silk or satin lining. There is a gilt embossed label in the lid that appears to read "Requier, Horlogerie - Bijouterie, Lisieux". See pictures for all measurements.
