An exceptional hand painted and artist signed, dated, portrait miniature of a charming lace bonneted woman, her trimmed shawl pulled like a fichu over her rather unique plaid silk bodice. Lace at her neckline, too, and the typical triple brow curls - all fashions in her time. Dated 1827, she would have had King Charles X, a return to the Royals, and a somewhat easier time for Nobles, of which she certainly is. Still housed in her original frame, the slightly convex cover glass protecting her very well. Gouache on thin natural wafer, which has a small (not full length) hairline to left of her and only visible from certain angles of view. Displays beautifully, and that face with so much personality is only 5/8", chin to hairline. Imagine! Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, as noted one small flaw, visible primarily from a side view, a hairline that does not extend the full height, and can be seen left of the figure in our photos (see detail pics). Nothing further to disclose.
