A marketer's label, "Johannes Eck,  Niort - Paris" has not resulted in telling me more of the story of this fabulous 18k gold capped antique French perfume or scent flask, flacon in its original box, but I can tell you from experience it's from the mid to late 1800s, and without it testing 18k, nor having the typical French control marks but acid testing at 14k, it might have been made elsewhere, not in Paris. Full measurements noted on photos.

Very good to excellent condition for age and type - It is near-immaculate, really, for age, without any flaws notable on either the flask or the box. Quite amazing. Obviously not an item that was used, but one treasured. A 'salts' scent flacon (flask), it retains the original salts within, and they have not even been scented. The tiny stopper is perfect and in place. I find 2 minuscule indentations, very very minor, on the 3/4" diameter ball of the cap, which is engraved and helps to disguise the slight imperfection.
