Lovely antique French Charles X to Napoleon III era dressing or vanity & sewing chest, a beautiful box with may original tools, implements, perfumes & jars with rare blue and pink boulle inlay! The carved wood edging is more of a calling card for Charles X era pieces, circa , but it may extend into the early Napoleon III period. Very unique with the colorful brass, pink & blue boulle inlays and, as you can see, it's still boasting many of its original tools and then some. In the rear are four bottles, two jars and two cologne or perfumes with silver plated lids rather than sterling but they're all ornate with a guilloche style machined pattern on top. The front has a lift-out tray with sewing items including scissors, thimble chrome looking silk or thread winders and more. Below that are compartments holding a large brush and several other tools, likely additions accumulated over the years. This one even has what appears to be the original skeleton key. A wonderful display box, don't miss it.

Good to very good condition. The exterior has some loss to the cream colored strip inlays and there is some sort of blemish on the front edge of the lid (chipping and a split in that brass string inlay, visible in the images). No missing boulle inlays though and, as noted, it appears to have the original working key. The interior has what looks like the original four glass & silver plated jars. We're not sure about the implements, surely several are replacements. Missing a few and a few of the velvet straps that hold the implements are split on one side or another. See pictures for all measurements.
