The frame is quite recent, and not of much value - but the painting dates c.1920-40, a resurrection of both the 19th century "Nature Mort" (still life) and also the Impressionist manner. Found in France, it is signed by the artist, lower left, H. Legany perhaps - I'm not positive. Beautifully done, photos show you the impressionistic brush stroke and use of color. Full measurements noted on the photos.
Very good to excellent condition for age and type, there are no holes nor losses at all on this one - unlike those we typically buy for you that are a century or so earlier. Superb painting, intimate and while it does show nicely in the relatively new gilded wood frame, I'd probably display it out of frame which is the more typical for these little prayers of thanks for the bounty of nature and provenance of one's daily meal.
