First half of 1900s, the A. Raynaud & Co., patterns still delight hostess and guests! The pattern is "Marie-Antoinette". This is a stunning simple and elegant grouping of 8 dinner plates and 2 large platters, and it's a pattern you can add to with relative ease through replacements.com (157654 Pattern Code: RYDMAAN). They're charging $169 for one of these dinner plates, so my grouping I've used for mostly informal dinner parties for a few friends for many years. Set with beautiful French sterling silver and it's top notch. Or dress it down for informal but beautiful table. I bought this set used, too.
Good to very good condition for age and type. The plates are gorgeous, but one has a chip on the outer rim (shown in our images). The gold is rich and thick and all there but that spot where the chip flashed some off. Normally we used these for an intimate evening with just 3 couples, and so I've never even used the one with a chip. I think of it as my 6-settings table with a handy spare. But there are 8 plates. And again, you can add to the set or easily replace that 1 for an 8-guest evening. The 2 platters are not in as good condition and they show utensil marks. I suspect someone served a lot of meat that was carved at table. But as long as you're not much into cabinet display and really into use, the tray/platter pair are very serviceable. Full measurements noted on our photos.
