"Fabrication Parisienne, Or Controle" gold embossed maker mark on the interior of the old case for this lovely antique cigar and cheroot holder. The amber is a deep cherry color, gorgeous, and trimmed with an acid tested and hallmarked 18k gold monogram though I can't quite decipher it. There would also have been a gold ring at the end but it's gone missing over the years. Amber is fossilized resin of certain species of ancient extinct trees and used for a variety of items during the Victorian era.
Very good for age and type, it is a beauty, but you can see it has been used and cherished, and while it's been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. With its original leatherette-clad case to protect it for a century or more. Please don't ask me to weigh the gold. It is acid tested at 18k. Look for our many cigar-related cases and holders, presenters and humidor, sold separately. See images for all measurements.
