Elegant antique French sterling silver 11.5" wide Écuelle or legumier, an ornate serving dish with laurel garland & gold plated "vermeil" interior! Nice large size, this one is 11.5" wide with the handles, the actual bowl portion has an 8 1/4" diameter and it weighs a hair over 14 troy ounces. The interior of the bowl is gold plated, likely 18k gold "vermeil" as was most common with the French though it is a bit worn or faded from the 100+ years of polishing. Marked with the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" within those marks means it's in .950 silver (95% pure so higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver). The silversmith marks are for Auguste Guyot, Paris circa 1903-1913. One of two similar pieces that we're adding today so, be sure to browse some while you're with us. Very good condition. Possibly a small dimple or two but no larger dents, no damage or repairs. As noted above, the vermeil interior shows some fading or wear. See pictures for weights and measurements.
