Raised gold enamel, Haviland porcelain pieces from my own formal table, I've mixed and matched many sets and pieces with these as service pieces at our most formal evenings with friends for decades now. Pandemic and age tell me I'm through doing formal dinners and I'm starting to sell off my favorite "go to" antique place settings and extras. This is my largest platter in the gold/white, a pair of matching Haviland pieces which were originally marketed through "Douglas, Denver, Colo" (Colorado, USA). Denver by the Belle Epoch era (this mark was used c.1894-1957 and this set is to the early end of that timeframe). The platter is big, heavy, and excellent, at 16 1/2" x 12" and 1 1/2" in depth (BIG turkey size). The gravy or sauce boat with attached under plate or under-tray is also large at 10" longest and 6" widest, and it looks perfect at table and in use, but there is a very old restoration (see images).

Very good to excellent condition for age and type. The large and heavy platter has no chips or crazing or hairlines, no cracks, no restorations. Perhaps a tiny wear loss somewhere on that hand painted gold enamel but not anything to draw the eye or mar the thrill of it on your table. The sauce boat, likewise, looks fabulous at table, but if you search it well, you'll find an old restoration done long ago before it became impossible to get porcelain tableware repaired. On table, you won't even see it, but when upside down, you'll see the evidence of restoration. I've shown that spot both top and bottom for your review, marked with XXs. No crazing on either serving piece. You are buying the matching pair. I do not have other pieces of this same Haviland pattern, and we have always preferred to mix/match gold and white porcelain - a very formal and fun table.  If you're their next owner, enjoy them as much as we have!
