This is an early one - Napoleon era or shortly thereafter, a Palais Royal boutique souvenir or whimsical gift, finest quality with solid bronze horses rather than later pressed brass animals, and a stunning ridged 'egg' which is surely an early Baccarat set, formed as halves of a trinket box, set into ormolu creating a carriage. Very ornate, best of this type of Palais Royal objects, well prior and up-market to the later ones with mother of pearl shells which we also all love. You'll want a collection of these. We bought out one recently so currently have several you're sure to want. So charming! Full measurements noted on the photos.

Very good to excellent condition throughout. Still mounted on the old original alabaster plinth (2 mount wires have lost their anchoring curl and seem to be held tightly in  place with a sealing resin (see image of bottom), making the piece sturdy and fine. These horses are solid-cast bronze sculptures. The gold finish metal is pressed dore brass ormolu, harnesses and twisted wire rigging and reigns. I see no breaks in the 200+ year old alabaster base, though I can see one tiny tight natural line in the old stone. It is not a crack/break. No restorations efficient anywhere. Beautifully kept.
