Fabulous antique Victorian era papier mache cigar case or etui with elegant mother of pearl chip inlay, brass cartouche and original fitted & silk lined interior! What a beauty! One for the papier mache or cigar tobacciana collectors out there for sure! Jet black papier mache covers front & back and the front with interlaced circle mother of pearl inlays with brass cartouche sans monogram! The inside is lined and fitted in a light blue silk, original cigar pockets on each side and expanding baffles, even a match striker panel. A wonderful decorative piece but perfect for use also! Very good condition! No missing pearl inlay. Slight wear to the ebony finish at an edge or two and there is a small bit of hairline crack visible on the rear upper corner. Some age darkening to the brass fittings and some staining or soiling to the blue silk interior but no tears in the expanding side baffles or silk interior. The clasp works just fine, no problems there. See pictures for measurements.
