The set is complete with all implements original to the case but perhaps that thimble. The thimble is silver with a musical score running its perimeter and a cabochon of carnelian on the end. It doesn't quite match the rest of the sewing set, so we're assuming it's a replacement. But it's charming and fits, and its how we bought it ages ago. I've always particularly loved this old c.1850-70s ivory etui, with the unique brass edging and cartouche. Nicely crafted and nicely preserved, the implements have the look of the 18k ones but not the price. Each have a tiny French mark, .800/1000 pure silver, which is the customary grade for small tools like these, .950/1000 being too soft and subject to breaks in the sewing tools. Very good to excellent condition throughout, age and type considered. An unusual case or etui, made with brass edging that sets off and highlights the old panels of ivory. No damage to the sewing tools. I'm going to put that bodkin (needle) inside the needle case so it doesn't slip out of the etui and become lost as many have, so if you buy it, once it arrives, open the needle case to find it. Steel-blades on scissors are still super-sharp. This is a set you could use. No damage to the thimble, which as noted, is probably a replacement.
