Charming antique Victorian to early Edwardian era bronze desk top inkwell or ink stand in the form of a horse riding or jockey's cap with horseshoe & whip shaped pen holder and attached base tray! We've always just loved antique inkwells whether they're sterling silver, great old Black Forest carved pieces, wonderful French Empire style or these larger cut crystal pieces. We've actually had several of our inkwells listed in antique inkwell reference books over the years. This one in bronze, possible brass, with an aged patina and quite unique with the equestrian motif! We're also adding a matched pair of smaller inkwells with a similar theme, each in thick cut glass or crystal with brass & pressed glass jockey cap lids. Very good condition. No damage to note, just the darkened spots and aged patina to note really. No inner glass ink pot though it likely originally had one. See pictures for all measurement.
