Elegant antique French hallmarked sterling silver & glass 36oz wine or claret jug with Classical or Empire style laurel & acanthus decoration, beautiful shaped glass body and in fabulous condition!  Another beauty just in from France, this one standing and holding 36 fluid ounces with a bit of room under the hinged lid.  Rare to find, especially this gorgeous and wonderfully cared for.  The silver top and lid bear the French Minerve or Minerva hallmark, the tiny number "1" in the upper right of the mark designates it as being .950 silver (95% pure and higher than the .925 standard for "sterling" silver).  The silversmith mark is for Henin & Cie (Co.), Paris circa 1896 to early 1900s.  Stunning, don't miss it!

Very good to excellent condition.  I see no flaws, the only thing worth noting is that it may originally have been in vermeil (when the sterling is plated with 18k gold).  Very slight remnants of the gold visible in a few places.  See pictures for all measurements.
