Fabulous & RARE comprehensive 30pc set of antique Minton 1891 marked "Faisan" Imari or Aesthetic style plate set including 18pc 10" dinner sized plates, 12pc 8 5/8" luncheon or dessert plates and all with Chinoiserie style flowers, foliage & bird decoration! WOW, rare to find these separately, much more so in such a large set! Especially the dinner sized pieces, a full table setting for eighteen with complimenting 12pc luncheon, dessert or salad sized pieces. All with the blue underglaze Minton marking, the banner below with "Faisan" inscription and I'm assuming that's the name of the pattern. A quick internet search shows several styles of this pattern, in different colors but these are by far the most visually pleasing with the rich, deep burgundy, blues and all are in wonderful usable condition! The date mark on all are for 1891, unless I missed one but they would all fall within a year of each other. Wonderful Japanese or Chinoiserie style, made popular by Napoleon's Josephine originally and these make great decorative pieces when not in use. A fabulous set, don't miss them!
Very good condition. No chips or cracks to note though there is some slight glaze crazing. As with hand made pieces, there is some variation in the pale cream color of the porcelain. There is also some nicks to the burgundy enamel borders (not chips, just some loss of the enamel). The entire 30pc set has a total weight of 31.4 lbs (14.24 kg). See images for measurements.
